LONG RANGE PLANNING
Long Range planning tasks guide development within the Town of Oakland to adapt to growth pressures from within and beyond the Town. The Town recently adopted a rewrite of the State mandated Comprehensive Policy Plan per Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, which included a review of the Town’s vision. Implementation of long range planning goals is the responsibility of short range planning.
This is where the shovels hit the dirt. New development and construction receive development review and building permit approval through these processes. The primary tools of Planning and Zoning are the Land Development Code and Development Review and Permitting Processes. All development, whether residential or non-residential, must follow the land development code and process.
