Planning & Zoning Board
Implement the comprehensive plan adopted by the City with reasonable consideration, among other things, to the prevailing land uses, growth characteristics and the character of the respective districts and their peculiar suitability for peculiar uses and to encourage the most appropriate use of the land throughout the city, from time to time revising and amending the plan.

Board of Zoning
Adjustment and Appeals
The Board of Zoning Adjustment & Appeals considers application for variances from the Town’s Zoning Code. These typically include dimensional variances (setback, lot width and lot area variances) & appeals to determinations by the Planning Director. An appeal of a decision by the Board of Zoning Adjustment is carried out in Circuit Court.

Code Enforcement Board
The Code Enforcement Board has jurisdiction & authority to hear and decide alleged violations of the Town Code of Ordinances, where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist, including but not limited to business tax licenses, fire, building, zoning and sign codes.

Citizen’s Advisory Committee
Community Redevelopment
The Citizen’s Advisory Committee provides advisory oversight for the preparation and implementation of the Town’s Community Development Block Grant Application. The Committee hope to also address the future housing needs of the Townspeople in its meetings.
