Mayor Kathy Stark

The Mayor is the chief elected official and the symbolic figurehead of Oakland's Town Government.  The Mayor presides over Town Commission Meetings and is a voting member of the Commission.

The Mayor represents the Town of Oakland at events, ceremonies, and meetings, and also signs resolutions, ordinances, proclamations, and other documents on behalf of the Town Commission.

WELCOME!

As your Mayor I would like to personally welcome you as a new resident of Oakland.  As you are already aware, Oakland is growing rapidly and the current administration is working

hard to retain our small town charm and friendliness as this growth takes place.  We have completed many new projects and we will continue to look for opportunities to enhance our little town.

We want you to be a part of that feeling and I encourage you to join us at a Town Commission meeting and take an active part in your new hometown.  We think that ours is the best kind of government because it is close to the people it serves.  That only works if residents take part. As a new resident, you are encouraged to attend Town Commission meetings (have a cup of coffee on us!) and get involved in the community there are many opportunities to do so.  We have a variety of boards that help serve Oakland as well as a committee for our annual Heritage Day Celebration.  Additionally, the Oakland Nature Preserve and the Friends of Lake Apopka are always in need of volunteers.

Town staff is ready to assist you and answer any questions you may have.  If there is something I can do to make you feel at home please don't hesitate to contact me through Town Hall 407-656-1117 or at kstark@oaktownusa.com.

With Best Regards,

 Mayor Kathy Stark
